The menu at El Alma  is a homespun take on the contemporary flavors of Mexico.  Chef Alma features one of her childhood favorites, ‘gringas’, a popular Mexico City snack made of flour tortillas, cheese, and savory pastor.  Not only will diners find familiar favorites such as tacos al pastor, carne asada tacos, and queso, they will also have an array of small plates and sophisticated entrees to choose from.  Using fresh ingredients and richly layered sauces, chef Alma presents entrees such as her duck enchiladas with mole, Shrimp & Crab Relleno and Carne a la Parilla just to name a few.

“I wanted to create a menu that would fit the location on Barton springs,” says Alcocer. “It’s fun, flavorful Mexican food that is very approachable. It’s a casual, authentic representation of the food I grew up eating.”
